Monitor is a place comprised of highly intelligent individuals with an incredible amount of diversity and an admirable passion for producing top-notch work for their clients.

Here in China we work in a very dynamic market with all kinds of projects coming up. Once accustomed to this ever-changing work environment, one can take advantage of the various learning opportunities available. I find myself constantly learning about new methodologies and ideas being developed by my colleagues in Asia or other parts of the world.

The firm is dedicated to upholding a culture of meritocracy. It not only encourages people to take on important responsibilities early on, but it also provides the coaching and support necessary to accelerate professional development. Over time, my roles and responsibilities have changed from conducting research and analyses, to helping senior directors manage day-to-day work and interacting with the client management team. Thanks to the many great mentors that I have met through various projects, my career with Monitor has been truly rewarding.

While working on different types of cases, I also had the opportunity to build up experiences in marketing and growth strategy. I was sent to our headquarter in the US for a series of classroom training sessions on M2C methodologies, and became continuously involved in cross-office M2C knowledge sharing activities.

My favorite case experience was a 4-month assignment in Melbourne, Australia. I worked with a fantastic team including colleagues from the UK, US and Germany. In a two-phase project, we helped our client – a top-tier global consumer goods company – identify market opportunities and re-design brand portfolio strategy. Our clients were very friendly and supportive. I was convinced during the project that consulting is not just about analytics but also about people. During weekends, our team of four explored the magnificent landscape, and enjoyed the great food and wine in many beautiful places around Australia.
